Apologies for rambling nature and spelling  Wink

1. General strategy - trade down if possible, ok slight pain with the eagles bills trade and denver being the other trade possibility, our no 1 hope is Sanchez being available at 7 and someone trading up with us above the Jags and Denver.

2. Off v Def - Out of our first 3 picks 2 should be for D and one for O, Yes Russell needs help on the line and with a WR but our Dline and run stopping needs more help. We need a DT, a DE and also upgrade our 3rd LB and safeties. Chris Johnson is old at CB but with little mileage we can afford to leave CB this year. We need one of the first 2 picks to be the dline, This means Raji at 7(Curry will be gone) or Brace his former teammate in the second round. DE is harder with the slight chance Michael johnson falls to the second . LB again if a good one falls to the second round then yes or Jasper Brinkley in the 3rd. Also we should stay away from this years Ghoulston in Orakpo

On O it looks like Wr all the way with tackle the wild card if a good one is available. Jason Smith and Monroe look gone with Andre Smith a risk and Oher a bit of a reach again OT is deep this year so can wait till the second. Wr I wouldn't be unhappy with Crabtree, you don't win two Biletnikoff awards just because of a spread offense, injuries and Raider speed may be the speedbumps in this selection. Maclin? I'm worried about duplicating Higgins and I say pass here, none of the other Wr deserve no.7 money so trade down or trade back up if we want Heyward-Bey or Nicks etc.

3. Day 2 - Not many picks here so we need to make them count, I'm guessing safety, a dline or oline prospect , Al won't be able to resist a superquick CB at some pont and if we have missed out on a LB or DE on day one then get one here.

4. Trades - Like I said trade doen on the first, none of our players have any great trade value and I guess a 7th for Walter or 5th for Huff is the best we can expect.

5. Ideal first day no 1 = Raji, Heyward Bey, Brinkley
Ideal first day no 2 = Crabtree, Brace, Brinkley

Fantasy land for us is trade with denver for two firsts (Sanchez is a bust for them very important Grin)we get Raji,Johnson, Heyward Bey or Nicks and Brinkley.

Thanks for reading look foward to anyone's thoughts.

I reckon that either Crabtree or Heyward Bey would suit our needs. However, this means that if Crabtree isn't available at 7, then some dealing may be needed to ensure that we can get Heyward Bey.

The need for a top line OT is not necessary when employed in the ZBS and as there is depth we should be able to pick up a VG candidate further down.

The D requirements are a much more difficult propect. We need someone with run stopping ability on the line and a  good MLB prospect.

With only 5 picks in total, it isn't looking good to fulfill our needs though the draft. Therefore, one has to assume that players available through FAafter the draft, will do the necessary.

There's onlty 2 round on the first day.

1rd Raji\
2nd Hayward bay.

I see where you are coming from and that works for me. However, i don't see them paasing on Crabtree if he is available.

further thoughts

Ron Brace will probably be gone by round 2
Don't draft Heyward Bey at 7 or any receiver bar Crabtree for that matter
Take Raji if a top OT or Crabtree are gone.
Al think about the defense for the love of god , 2 out of the first 3 picks please
The Sanchez love-in continues and hope that he is available at 7 , Teams need to get ahead of the Jags to land him. Only stumbling block is theymay trade with the Bengals in front of us.

@r8rmr don't kill yourself this year just concentrate on our picks , half the stuff you will be posting is available elsewhere and I don't think the traffic at the moment warrents it.

Lets have more debate than copying and pasting also guys.

Good Luck Raidernation

Al listen to Cable please and also Marshall needs help unless we want Ryan part 2 and 31st run defence again.

Thanks for your concern Aeyjay, I will certainly not be doing too much. But I will still post the picks for each round.
