Geez, he's low in a dicey depth chart and he's got a one year deal for the minimum......

The Texans currently have Matt Schaub at quarterback, but are in need of a backup after trading Sage Rosenfels to the Minnesota Vikings. The Texans have already signed former Detroit Lions backup Dan Orlovsky.

Here's the link:
Rex Grossman, formerly of Chicago Bears, meeting with Houston Texans - ESPN Chicago

(Frankly, the Bears fans I know would like to see him get much worse.  Grin )

Not exactly a sparkling core of QB's, though we may not have seen the best from Schaub yet.

Never really rated Grossman that highly.

I never rated Grossman highly either.  But in all fairness, he needed an O-line and some better receivers.

In other words, we may never know....    Grin

You could say that about quite a few QB's that haven't come up to expectations. Grossman has been mercurial at best. No-one quite sure of which version of him would turn up to play in any given game. Or at times, any given drive.
