Posting Games

A number of sites that I go to have post whore games for example word association games.

The idea is that the more posts there are on the forum the higher they appear in searches etc. Not sure if thats true but I wanted to find out the members thoughts on this.

Personaly it depends. I'm not a fan of word association games or things like even number counting games, I dont mind those where we find out more about the member - such as what are you listening to, favourite movie thread etc.

It would be dependant upon the topic. They have the possibility of getting totally outrageous and out of hand unless closely monitored. But if the assertion is that it might raise the profile of the site, I would certainly have no objections.

To be honest it doesn't matter if you post one thing or another.  It is more down to SEO (search engine optimisation) and what you allow robots and crawlers to see along with meta-tagging (forums don't generally have this) but we do allow robots and crawlers here already but never allowed anything to be seen until yesterday.

I have flagged up tag words for uk, raider, nation, oakland etc so once they do their work we will start sitting higher in the ranks.

The amount of hits does also help but unless you are allowing crawlers etc to pick these up it would be pointless.

Fave films etc are always good as at least there is some information and some point of debate.

Yeah threads about films, music are good, but just random degenerates into crap. I'd like this to be an educated and intelligent forum as well.
