Did anyone else have an issue accessing the site yesterday? It looked like somebody had hacked us.

The problem was sorted out by Gazzara. It has been a problem that has affected other sites as well.

Cheers Gazza!  Wink

ola, yup the problem was a hack unfortunately but not just here.  It is a pretty crappy hack that involves the servers we rent being injected with a shell file that allows the hacker to replace all the index.php files on those servers.

All of my sites among a few thousand others were infected and it has taken an age to get them all sorted back out again.

As usual, no key details were seen or infected so no need to change passwords etc and if that happened then I would be contacting you all immediately.

Unfortunately, this thing happens from time to time unless I want to pay stupid money for mega secure servers which the corporates have.

Gaz...... how many sites do you have?

If we did think about moving to secure servers I think we would have to ask for contributions.......

mature-gaming.com is my main site which has publisher support and ranked in the top 10,000 sites in Britain so that was the first one to get sorted but I have a few that I have built and are hosted on the same server for businesses etc.

With regards to the silly secure servers that big companies have then you are looking at hundreds a month so that is deffo a no go.

I organised a LAN event for last weekend and only arrived back this morning to see all this going down.  The plus side is that I have my Madden 10 back on PS3 so if you want to organise a night then we are good to go Smiley
