Been reading some of the posts over at nfluk.com

Quite funny seeing how much the Bronco fans are sticking up for the selection.  To be fair IF  Al fell in love with Tebow i would be surprised but excited by getting this player who 'some' people think is stunning and could be the next great type of athlete in the NFL.

I dont watch college football but i've heard all the hype.  I also heard all the hype about Danny Wuerrfel when Redskin fans were saying it was a great move when he comes to Washington as his coach, Steve Spurrier is there.

Theres so many great sub-plots in the NFL, thats why i love the league.  This sub-plot here will be fascinating, Tebow, will he be a boom or bust pick ?

One Bronco fan did say something good, 12 months ago we were laughing when Kyle Orton came in and Cutler was traded and we all ended up with egg on our face.

But Tim Tebow ?  Going to be fascinating to see what happens to him

Might have some situational impact, probably in a H back kinda role.

I dont think he can play QB, the pick was bad value, but he will be good in the lockeroom.

I think they surveyed 21 NFL GM's and 16 said he wouldnt be a starting quality QB in the NFL.

It has long been the opinion of many that his skills as a college QB do not translate to the NFL in the same position unless he has a serious overhaul of his technique and decision making. But he was good to watch in college.

Hope he bombs against the Raiders.

I think he could be very good in a couple of years. As he's a natural born winner.

But he wont have much of an impact in the next couple if years, much like Robert Ayers.

We should just be grateful that they've effectively wasted 2 first round picks(for now), and they are right in out sights.

As i said to a Broncos fan i chatted with on line. I look forward to McClain pumeling him to the ground twice a year. Alot of what they said about Tebow is what they said about Vince Young when he came in.

I also remember similar hype about Eric Crouch and some other college QB's who were 'gods' in college but nothing in the NFL.

Have a look at that thread on nfluk.com...

Tim Tebow to the Broncos - Page 34 - NFL UK Forums

england4broncos is a complete nutjob, very funny.

I'm always intrigued to see how these 'cant miss' college superstars do in the NFL, i presume McDaniels will keep Tebow at bay for a year or two.  From what i've read i just cant see how he'll do that well in the NFL with a slow release, seems a nice guy and very intelligent but just doesnt have it all for the NFL.

BUT what is funny is that if Oakland drafted him those Bronco fans would be laughing big time if we took him in the first round, even if we traded back.

But its going to be an interesting story to see for the next x years.
