Is he the first of many that are on the cusp of being fired. He certainly looked to be on very dodgy ground over the last few weeks. Though Garrett was touted as the HC in waiting, his performance as the OC over the past few seasons threw up an certain amount of doubt into that scenario. However it appears he has been named.

I'm stunned how bad Dallas have been, i mean yeah the second Romo went down they were going to struggle, Kitna wasnt that bad in his first game but let down by his WR's (two passes went off their hands and were intercepted).  But the defense has collasped, the amount of points they've allowed is shocking.  Even with a poor offense i expected the defense to step up.

Do think Dallas should go with McGee at QB, cant get any worse.

Feel a bit sorry for Wade Phillips, seemed a nice guy but never was a HOF type coach.  Garrett was the hot name a few years back and now has totally cooled down.

We moan about Al Davis being GM but its worse for Dallas, Davis has a long history of coaching etc whereas Jones is just a rich guy who bought the team

The blame should be Jerry Jones here; because he the General manager.

Whilst it seemed to work out when he first bought the franchise and brought in Jimmy Johnson, it hasn't been the same since he left and Jones took a more active role.

I can see why they fired him, its like the team has totally given up under Philips, specially that defense.

I mean yeah they have Jon Kitna at QB but other teams play a backup QB and the defense does a great job to keep them in ball games.

I cant see Garrett doing much but again i can see why they fired Wade.  The players have to blame themselves a ton, i still look at that defense and they've got talent in many areas, but theyre just playing so badly.

Same on offense, Felix Jones isnt getting it done, Marion Barber is good to grind out a few yards here and there but wont ever have a 70 yard td sprint.

I do feel whoever the new coach is next year should get it turned around.  I mean what are Dallas ?  1-7 is it ?  Ridiculous considering the talent they have even with a backup QB

I have a friend who is a Cowboys fan and he is totally against having Garrett as their HC. He thought that Phillips was too nice, never really got fired up about much and didn't inspire confidence in the players. He reckons Garrett was never that good as the OC so he has now stepped up into a position where he is well out of his depth. Time will tell!

I dont think it was a case of Phillips being nice, just think the team hasnt gelled. They're haemorraging points and are struggling to get their offense going. Even the most fired up HC would struggle to get this years Dallas team winning games.

Well Garrett was the big name a few years back, highly sought after and now seems to have gone off the radar.

Still cant believe hes now the temporary HC of Dallas, seems like yesterday i was watching him at QB for the San Antonio Riders of the WLAF !

(Same for Sean Payton, ex Leicester Panthers QB)
