Chiefs Trade Jared Allen To the Vikes

First major trade before the draft. Chiefs got the Vikes 1st pick and 2 3rd round picks. Allen had 15.5 sacks last season.

Most of his sacks were probably against us. The Chiefs seem to be going for a rebuild.

I can't say it is not a complete risk for the Vikes given the picks and the size of the contract but it's a bit reckless on the Chiefs as well, who will they draft that will be better than Allen was? I guess they will now go Gholston or Long at 5 but they could both be gone. All in all it's great that Allen is out of our division.

There are still a couple of good DE available as prospective 1st rounders. But it does mean that they will not be as effective and we should make some good yardage against their D.

I would say it's no risk. Allen is still in his mid twenties. I just wished he would of stayed at the Chiefs another year so we might of had a chance of picking him up. He's also from the bay area and a know raider fan.

He is a great player and I am glad that our O line don't have to worry about him this season. And yes it would have been good to have him on our D but we might be able to get ourselves another pass rusher of his calibre soon.
