The end of the NFL lockout is near as the players and the owners seem to be very close on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and once the new deal gets the green light the teams around the league can start wheeling-and-dealing shortly thereafter. With so many talented free agents at skill positions when the new CBA gets finalized, a lot of teams around the league will be doing everything within their power to improve their squads by signing these free agents.

The one free agent that has the entire league buzzing right now is the recently rehabilitated veteran wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Even though Burress could ultimately turn out to be bust and over-the-hill, the resurgence of quarterback Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles) last season has really gotten Plaxico’s stock to rise recently.

Even though a lot of teams in need of a downfield threat heading into next season will be going after Plaxico Burress, the one other veteran wide receiver that could get the same amount of interest is perennial Pro Bowler Randy Moss.

So far, Moss has been linked to quite a few teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets, but something interesting happen recently as the Oakland Raiders could be thinking about bringing in their former wideout.

It is no secret that the Oakland Raiders and the Randy Moss relationship was a disaster from the word go, but the team made a drastic turnaround last season and is in desperate need of a downfield threat like Randy Moss. With Moss taking much less money these days, the veteran wideout might be open to returning to Oakland if they will have him.

If Randy Moss does return to the Raiders, Oakland will have one of the most dynamic offenses in the league with a dominant running game and a potent passing attack. It will be interesting to see just how serious the Raiders will be about bringing in a player that caused so much trouble for them a few years back.

I would love Moss back , sure it wouldnt be a huge deal but just cant see it happening.

Year 1 with Oakland Moss did alright despite picking up an injury early on against SD, didnt seem 100% for most of the second half of the season.

Year 2 was as disaster.  Yeah hes still getting paid big money and shouldnt have acted the way he did but damn, must have been depressing being on that team back then, no QB, no offence, just a disaster.

Moss will have a huge chip on his shoulder after his terrible '10 season and i think whoever picks him up will get a certain 1000 yard WR. Heard hes been working like crazy in the offseason (Yeah fair enough it was his agent who said that) but hes ready to bounce back after a bad season last year.

But cant see us signing him due to those two earlier seasons.  But as we now have a QB Moss would do well for us if we did have him

Moss is a cancer that the Raiders do not need

I would tend to agree based on his time with the Raiders previously. But he can still play. Besides Al won't take another chance on him.

You never know though , Moss might turn it around.  Go back a while back and people saying 'dont go near Vick' after he came out of prison (Personally glad we didnt go near him) and look how he stunned us all last year.

12 months ago you wantd McFadden moved to WR and called him a bust. Now look.

I reckon Moss will get 1000 yards this year and thats something we need.  But again I cant see him coming to us

I'm sure we will find out where he will end up soon enough. Bit it won't be Oakland.
