Your right there BC. When I went to Charlotte I flew through Newark. I tell you there's a lot of miserable people who work at Newark airport. Maybe it was because it was teeming down.

I've been through Newark several times and it's like all the people there have forgotten how to smile. So many dour folk and that's without including the passengers.

Strange.  I flew out of Newark Airport last September, and it was unbelievably friendly.  The woman checking in the luggage was a total sweetheart.  And everywhere I went, there were employees standing at places where people might have a question about where to go.  They were looking at the faces of people, and when they saw a questioning face they were offering help before being asked.  The guys at the x-ray machines were downright cheerful.  The people at the gate kept giving friendly updates about boarding and such.  And everyone seemed happy.

A very pleasant experience for me.  When were you guys there?  Maybe they cleaned up their acts after all the bad publicity over airport security rock-head moves at some airports.

My brother lives in D.C. and last time I went out to see him, I flew into Newark and got a connection.

Man, that place was stuck in 1973.

Brown, green, dull....... I had a few beers to pass the time but the place was like a morgue.

I was there in June.

When we landed we got a bus to the terminal and a woman who checked our tickets was down right rude. Snapping fingers and more interested in talking to the woman next to her.

I had a 6 hour stop over (I would have gone into NY but it was raining heavily and I only had T-shirt on.....it had been 94 in Charlotte) when I went for a beer and some food the woman who served me was completely disinterested. Maybe I just caught unlucky.

I was through there twice last year and about 6 times in the last 4 years and it has always been the same. Maybe it's the accent that they don't like. I have also been out of both Orlando and Dulles and I find them much better.

Haven't been through there in a long time but it used to be fine. Really liked Atlanta too, but haven't been there in a while either.
