I'd like to clean up my Mac and get rid of the unused and out of date files/caches etc - whats the best way of doing that without spending any cash?

Crap Cleaner works very well on Windows systems. Haven't ever had a MAC and can't vouch for the MAC version of it: CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) 1.00.093 Beta 6 for Mac OS X - TechSpot Downloads
