narrow loss, and we could have won it if Alvis hadn't dropped a pass in the endzone with 5 seconds to go.

Culpepper looked good, - probably now has the advantage.

I thought Jordan played well also.

Didn't see the game, but from reports it seems like the O line look like a better unit already. Here's hoping.

This was the best pre-season game I've ever seen, and believe me that's saying someting. Usually by the 2nd half the games a snooze fest, send in the reserves and lets go home.  This my friends was just a thing of beauty.
Watching the 1st quarter took back a year ago watching my hopes dashed as the 1st team bungled 3 and out then taking a rest. Walter shotgun fumble punt. Niners kick field goal ho hum.  Walter drops back Travis Taylor wide open drops the ball "O you BASTARD!" Niners go up 6 to 0. Raiders get a holding penalty, Walter drops back and throws into triple coverage "Why you stupid son of a!!!!" Niners run it back 20 plus yards  and in 2 plus plays Huff forgets where the ball is and the Niners go up 13 to nothing and I start looking for the bottle of Jack Daniels thinking to myself "I pick the wrong time to stop drinking." but then a funny thing happened.  Walter was facing third and 14 after another holding penalty deep in there own territory and threw to Curry for a 1st down, and Boom the Raiders went on to score three unanswered touchdowns.  The team didn't quit and Monster park forgot that this was just and exhibition game. After falling behind chants of "Raiders suck!" came up from the crowd against the third team no less. When Niners got the final touchdown the went for two. In pre-season they went for two so the Raiders couldn't win the game! Go figure, but what I loved about this game was the passion someting the Nation has been missing for a long time.

sometimes with local rivalries friendly exhibitions games can be just as competitive.

haven't seen any of the highlights yet but from what i've read seems that we had a purpose and direction and although certain things didnt 'work right all the time we had a 'buzz about us' to coin the old footie saying. would that be right?

some good highlight on NFL.com - and its a game we should have won, Whitted dropped a pass in the endzone with 5 seconds to go. Pillock.

We're looking better on offence  - the oline seems to be holding up. Just need to get our QB's to stop fumbling the ball.

Yeah I think we could but we'd have to be at least 3 - 1 at the bye week even then its a push.

In the first 4 weeks we have the Lions, Browns, Dolphins that are all winnable, and are at Denver - which we wont win.

After that we can pick up wins against the Titans, Texans and at least one of the Chiefs games. Can we beat Green Bay? - yeah I think so.

Games that are way out for us are the Colts, Bears, Vikings (their Defence is under rated).

That leaves Chargers x2 and Bronco's (plus the other Chiefs game) and the Jags. Who knows what you'll get from them.

Not an easy schedule though but there are winnable games.
