Looks like I may have won my sporting bet. I guess this will be confirmed in the presser later. In case anyone didn't know, this will be live on Raiders.com

Obviously, I'm not surprised by this really. I think you are right psj - Winston Moss will be the new Head Coach.

Moss fills me with dread, each time I see GB defense they are getting torched, Just like Brees will in the NFC Championship game IMO

Jacksons erratic behavior and the results should make this no big surprise. However, there is now a great deal of work to be done by The GM and his staff to recruit not only a HC and a DC but possibly a OC as well. Saunders may not be kept on either.

Been interesting reading lots of twitter messages today. One minute Hues blaming Mark Davis for everything, next minute passing the blame somewhere else

This is where Hue royally messed up.  To me its now apparent he comes from the Lane Kiffin School of Immaturity. You didnt see Norv Turner go off on a rant when he was fired, not even Art Shell or others. Hue gambled big time, made a huge over priced trade for Palmer, it was playoffs or bust. At 7-4 it was looking good, if he made the playoffs i dont believe he would be gone.

Hes now thrown Chuck.B under the bus and blamed him as he couldnt choose his own defensive co ordinator, yep fair enough but you werent crying about it when you were 7-4.

One minute hes blaming Mark Davis for signing off on that huge deal, before that he said the deal was his and how it was the 'deal of the century'.  Next minute hes inviting ESPN cameras to see him have a foot spa !?!

His press conference after the Chargers loss was embarassing, blaming the players/coaches and everyone but himself, saying how he had to have more power, had to have a huge input with the GM etc, just sounded like a 'mini Al'.  Jackson is a superb offensive co ordinator and granted last season 'at times' his offense was very good and the defense was shocking.  Granted he couldnt do much abuot that all year.  But its the way he acted after the Chargers loss, hearing rumours of the players fed up of him, laughing behind his back as weekly he would be telling them what ones would be gone after the year as a 'threat'.  He seemed to have lost a lot of control over the players and thats not good.

But his comments/press conference after the Chargers loss to me really doomed Hue Jackson.  Shame but i can see why McKenzie wants his own man

As for Winston Moss, yep all i can do is look at the stats, but the Packers were 14-0 solely because of that offense. To me their defense allowed a lot of late  yardage as they were winning big in so many games.  I'm excited because of the new GM and we'll be getting a new defensive co ordinator and system.

Someone said they hope they keep Al Saunders on as OC to keep some continuity, Perry as DC and Moss as HC ?

I think thats great. There is talent here, need better coaches. I mean in the 70's you have this nice hazy view of penalties were the 'bad boy' type ones, the Raiders were a force to be reckoned with kinda thing. Have penalties when youre winning. When youre not winning then penalties are stupid.

We set an NFL record for penalties, i wouldnt care that much if we made the playoffs but we didnt, they were just 'old skool ' penalties like fights, they were utterly stupid ones before the snap which killed drives and many more. There wasnt any discipline, i bet the new coach wont have near the same amount of penalties as Hues team did.

Hue is a great co ordinator, and nearly did a great job in his first year as HC, yes he was tied to Chuck.B as defensive co ordinator (But again against Miami/Green Bay i blame Hue for those first half disasters as much as Chuck.B) but he acted like he wanted tons of power, like he was a mini Al.  His inexperience showed at the end of the season when he threw everyone under the bus, a big no no.  He shot himself in the foot with that

But problem was when Hue started blaming Chucky Bres at the end of the season; why  didn't he get rid of Bres at the halfway point. I know you keep saying you don't change things in the season but we had a crap defense and there was no-way it could get any worse under somebody else.

To me we were winning though, we were in the thick of the playoff hunt at the midway point, we were then 7-4, no point changing things then. I dont think a new co ordinator at the halfway point would have changed anything, same as in the past when we had a new co ordinator halfway through a season (Greg whatshisname) it didnt change.  We were 7-4, despite a crap defense we were all happy

The next two games (Miami/Green Bay) the offense was just as bad as the defense.  Schilens catches a pass and we beat the Jets, that Chargers WR recovers the ball in the endzone one more yard deep and we get a safety.  If Marion Barber doesnt go out of bounds then Denver lose and we would be in the playoffs now.

The defense was dire but i dont think he should have changed things at the halfway point, and in a way i'm right as we then started winning and we were 7-4.  To be fair injuries on offense killed us but at 7-4 you expect to make it.
