The New York Jets hired Sanjay Lal to be their wide receivers coach, according to a report from NewYorkJets.com. Lal held that position with the Raiders the past five seasons.
Lal was well liked by the receivers he coached during his tenure in Oakland. He is credited with getting up to speed Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore right away, as well as for the breakout season enjoyed by Darrius Heyward-Bey this season after two subpar seasons.
Lal, 42, could not be reached for comment. Interestingly, he still is listed on the Raiders website.

Good luck to him I say.  He proved a lot of detractors wrong It would be fair to say, I don't recall anyone predicting good things when Al made this hire.

It's interesting that the second Davis hire to go under McKenzie, decided to jump ship himself. Lal is clearly regarded as a good coach by others too. It would seem likely he would have stood a good chance of sticking around if he wanted to.
