What replaces this is going to have to be good. Very good. Because its going yo have NO time to gel and NO relation to the incumbant players.

Well they might be cleaning house regardless of having a coach or not. I hope you are right.

Did he jump before he was pushed? Or was it a matter of receiving an offer he couldn't refuse?

I know its taken us ages already but the new coach will want to hire his own staff, the days of Al ruling and saying what coaches stay under a new HC are long gone.

I read all their contracts expired last week, so Bresnahan and others are without a contract now and are free to sign with whoever they want.  Everyone seems to suggest with Waufle going that could mean even more a move to the 3-4 (As Waufle only teaches 4-3)

There seems to have been a great deal of speculation about a move to 3-4, but as has been pointed out, it's still a matter of having the right personnel to be able to be able to make the transition. But considering that there will be a wholesale change in coaching staff, anything may happen.

I don't think it anything to do with moving from 4-3 to 3-4, McKenzie cleaning house and he want to give Jon Gruden lot of room, meaning he can bring his own staff in...

Well i thought Gruden coming would be a 0% chance, now i think 5% !  Heard that McKenzie has contacted Grudens agent but i'm surprised at that, thought McKenzie had a good idea of who he wanted.

I dont see Gruden coming back to Oakland, if he does he'll be playing games with his agent and stuff. Remember all that Ohio State stuff he refused to shoot down when that came out ?    I would leave Gruden where he is BUT i admit if he was hired the excitement would be incredible (and perhaps overrated).  But cant see Gruden leaving ESPN

Right, but it is about having the option to move to 3-4 and thereby hiring a 3-4 specialist. I've already made my feelings clear that there were things worth keeping (including Waufle) but it seems McKenzie's vision is longer or shorter than mine.
