NFL.com are reporting that the Raiders and Russell have finally agreed "in principle" to the terms of a contract which will make him the richest rookie in history.

Probably signed to late to start this year even though he might get his chance week 11 onwards if we have nothing to loose. It’s a lot of money for a rookie but that’s the way that the contracts are going.  Let’s hope he is not a bust with just strong arm. Hopefully the Raiders will bring in a really good  QB coach to nurture him along and get him ready to play.
