Having just got back today from my outing to Wembley I have to say that though it wasn't a spectacular game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been to several of the NFL Europe/Europa games and they were good but this was far better. The only things that could have been done to improve the enjoyment were: the weather, the scoring, better seats and the Raiders. If they had been playing nothing else would have mattered.

I won't go into any detail of the experience in the stadium, that was as previously stated. However, outside the stadium is another matter. Never having been to Wembley before I wasn't sure what to expect. But being herded around like cattle, for the better part of an hour ,when you exit to get to the underground does not endear me to the organisation responsible for supposedly improving transportation in the stadium vicinity. From what I hear nothing has been improved in the area at all. Friends that I have spoken to have confirmed that it used be just the same with the old stadium. Apparently both teams have been heard complaining about the road traffic when trying to get to the stadium for practice and the game.

It will be interesting to here the comments from the players and the organisations on their experience. As well as those from the American fans who made the trip over. I can only hope that the organisers of the 2012 Olympics do a better job of sorting out transportation otherwise it will have a disatrous effect on the games.

Manic foot traffic to the tube after the game. Fortunately our hotel was 100m away so we escaped it. By the look of all the hoardings there are a billion appartments about to go up around the stadium.

As for 2012... should not matter as only a few football matches will be there.

The stadium itself is stunning. Pity the game was not better.

I enjoyed the game probably because of its significance and the view from the seating area is good. We did try to get accomodation close to the stadium but didn't manage it. So we had to suffer the indignity as mentioned.

My point about the transport situation was that they stated that during the re-building of the stadium they were going to address the issue of transportation around it. As far as I could see and based on reports from people I know, who have been there to the old stadium, nothing appears to have been done in this area. If they don't provide adequate transportation when the new Olympic stadia are built, the games will become a fiasco and in particular when the Opening and Closing Ceremony are completed.
